What is Peers?

PEERS is an evidence-based program for motivated young people who are interested in learning ways to help them make and keep friends, communicate meaningfully with others, solve problems, and develop confidence in their communication skills.

What is a Power Session?

PEERS Power Sessions are a fantastic opportunity to level up your social communication skills and participate in elements of  the Peers program in a single session. Each one-day program focuses in on a different aspect of social communication (e.g. conversation skills, handling conflict, finding friends), and groups also include practical skills for hanging out including playing games and going to get lunch together.

Who can benefit from a Peers Power Session?

Peers Power Sessions are perfect for:

+ People who want a taster of what PEERS is all about.

+ People who have participated in a PEERS program before and want a skill refresher

+ People who want to learn PEERS skills but are unable to commit to a 14-week program.

Our September/October program is Confident Connections.

In Confident Connections, we'll target skills for communicating effectively with others, and finding friends that fit your needs and preferences. We’ll chat about how and where to find people, figuring out your social style, and strategies for hanging out with friends, and have lunch together at Charlestown Square.

What do I need to bring?

+ A positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and try new things!

+ Any tools you need to feel comfortable.

+ Some money to buy lunch from Charlestown Square.
