A bit about me:

Chelsea is our smiley and bubbly speech pathologist who works between our Charlestown and Warners Bay clinics. Chelsea has experience working across both private and public health sectors which has lead to extensive experience working with a paediatric caseload across multiple areas of communication and child development. This includes Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Intellectual Disorders, speech skills, school-aged language, stuttering, literacy, early language development, pragmatic (social) skills and some aspects of voice. Chelsea is also skilled in using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and Key Word Sign to further enhance her client’s communication skills.

Chelsea is committed to lifelong learning and professional development. Chelsea graduated with a Bachelor of Speech-Language Pathology (honours) in 2018 and in 2021 she graduated from her Masters of Special and Inclusive Education with Distinction. She has completed post graduate training in The Lidcombe Program for Stuttering, Sounds~Write for literacy development, Talk For Writing, PODD (Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display), Colourful Semantics, Story Champs language intervention, and PROMPT. Chelsea is a Hanen Certified Speech Pathologist having completed parent training in the More Than Words program and It Takes Two to Talk program.

Chelsea strives to include the client and their family within all aspects of therapy to ensure their needs and concerns are met with the highest standard of care. She provides a positive and relaxed environment where all clients and their families are made feel welcome and supported. Chelsea loves making her sessions fun and engaging. She is able to adapt assessments and intervention plans to meet the needs of every child.

Fun Fact:

Chelsea loves to draw! Whenever she has spare time, she loves to chill out with a cup of tea, some nice music and get creative with her sketch pad. She also loves spending time in the sunshine with her cute dog who very much resembles a teddy bear.
